AI Ethics & Policy in Africa: Enroll to Our 5-Week Online Course
The need for responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance has never been more pressing. As AI continues to shape societies and economies, it is essential to critically examine not only the current ethical considerations and regulatory frameworks but also the future of AI governance in a world shaped by historical inequalities.
To address this, UCT’s EthicsLab, in collaboration with the African Observatory on Responsible AI, a flagship project of the Global Center on AI Governance, is offering a 5-week online course on AI Ethics & Policy in Africa.
This course, featuring two live online sessions per week, will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to engage critically with:
African policy and ethical considerations on AI;
Ethical principles from AI governance and standards;
The social, ethical and discriminatory impacts of AI;
African AI governance and regulation across Africa.
Who Should Enroll?
This course is designed for:
Professionals working in AI, policy, or governance
Graduate students seeking to deepen their understanding of AI ethics
Government officials and regulators responsible for AI policy and implementation
