  • AI governance and ethics in the majority world, including AI Ethics and Development; AI and epistemic justice; AI Governance and the Developmental State; investigating global value chains.

  • Gender and inclusion in AI, including AI and inequality; AI, gender inclusion, and women’s empowerment; women in AI leadership; AI and Financial Inclusion; inclusive critical digital literacy.

More about AI in Society

AI in Society will bring together scholarly research that explores how AI has transformed (and continues to transform) the world we live in, both positively and negatively, and the challenges and debates it brings along. An increasingly ubiquitous topic in news and media, how AI is understood—or misunderstood—in the global conversation, how researchers, consumers, and citizens contend with its implications for privacy, trust, security, and governance, will drive innovation and policy at the local, national, and international level for generations to come.

Accepted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic standards and relevance to the overall ethos of the Intersections project. Please see more here: https://academic.oup.com/intersections/pages/about
